Russian troops are fighting Ukrainian reconnaissance groups that want to gain a foothold in the island part of the Dnieper River delta in the Kherson region. This was reported by DEA News Regional Governor Vladimir Saldo.
According to him, the situation on the islands is dynamic because there are no clear combat contact lines there.
In recent months, according to Saldo, after the “adventure failure” in the village of Krynki on the left bank of the Dnieper, Ukrainian troops have “noticeably lost their activity” and are unable to establish long-term positions in the Dnieper delta.
The governor believes that it will be possible to completely clear the Dnieper floodplains only after Russian troops land on the right bank.
He added that the Dnieper delta remains a gray zone due to natural and geographical conditions.
