New glide bombs carried by Russian Aerospace Forces aircraft will create problems for Ukraine’s air defense system. War Zone (TWZ) writes about this.
The broadcast reviewed footage of the release of the D-30SN universal intermodal glide munition (UMPG) from a Russian Su-34 fighter jet.
Journalists claimed that these weapons were tightly connected to the Russian army’s arsenal. According to them, this situation will create new problems for Ukrainian air defense operators who are in a difficult situation.
The article notes that UMPBs differ from bombs with universal planning and correction modules (UMPC) by a significantly improved design. The UMPB’s compact body allows it to perform better in the air and cover much greater distance. The bomb is believed to have received an inertial and satellite navigation system that would guide it to its target.
UMPB D-30SN can be used not only by aviation, but also by multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) of the Tornado-S type. In this case, the ammunition will be used with the jet engine and essentially turn into a rocket.
