France plans to increase production of Aster missiles

The head of the French Ministry of Defense, Sebastian Lecornu, said that priority should be given to enterprises in the country’s military-industrial complex for the production of Aster anti-aircraft missiles. This was reported by RIA News.

“For the first time, I have used my executive powers to direct a number of contractors to prioritize military orders for Aster missiles, while civilian orders will take a backseat,” LeCornu said.

The minister added that Paris will also “unlock a new batch of Aster 30 missiles” for the SAMP/T air defense system equivalent to the American Patriot.
