Russian FPV drones “Joker-10” are adapted to perform the tasks of the air defense forces (air defense). This was announced by Dmitry Kuzyakin, General Director of the Center for Integrated Unmanned Solutions (CDBR). RIA News.

According to him, drones can already hit helicopters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) with explosives coming from pipes installed in heat traps. In addition, FPV drones are capable of engaging enemy UAVs, which in the future can become a budget alternative to expensive anti-missile defenses.

“We have implemented a new scenario for the use of FPV unmanned aerial vehicles – FPV air defense and protection of the immediate air environment,” said Kuzyakin.

The Central Defense Design Bureau noted that the need to adapt FPV drones for air defense missions is associated with attacks on Russian territory by Ukrainian troops using aircraft-type UAVs, often made of foam plastic, which is why radars do not respond. drones.

Kuzyakin noted that the FPV-air defense project has already been tested at the test site where Joker shot down aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles.
