Experts opened a 53-meter deep well in the Pioneer mine in the Amur region as part of the rescue of 13 trapped miners. This has been reported telegram channel Ministry of Emergencies of Russia.
The Ministry revealed that experts covered the areas where the rock mass came from with soil. Mine rescuers removed another 160 cubic meters of soil. The Ministry of Emergency Situations added that rescue teams had prepared the area and materials to build concrete waterproof lintels and also drilled two exploration wells from the surface into the mine works.
The Ministry announced that two drilling rigs were working in the field. The first hole leads to the expected location that will help communicate with miners. The latter will connect rescuers to the closer horizon of the mine. The Ministry of Emergencies explained that this will help to more accurately assess the situation inside.
On March 18 at the mine of the mining and hydrometallurgical plant in the Amur region dead rock collapse. According to rescue teams, the incident occurred in an underground work site. There were 13 people in the mine, which was approximately 125 meters deep; they were all shift workers for a contracting company doing mining and capital mining work. People under the rubble have not been contacted yet.
