It is stated that rosacea and acne are chronic skin diseases with different symptoms and formation patterns. The causes of rosacea are not fully understood. As part of the study, scientists collected information on 296 people with various types of acne and rosacea. Data obtained from healthy volunteers were also taken into account. Researchers assessed the severity of the disease, recorded the participants’ height and weight, and examined their eating habits. In addition, blood samples were taken from all subjects to determine glucose, insulin and glycated hemoglobin levels.

An analysis of eating habits showed that people with acne and rosacea had a significantly reduced proportion of vegetables, fruits, pasta, soy products and boiled potatoes in their diets compared to those without these conditions. At the same time, healthy people’s diets included less honey, meat and fast food. Scientists have linked consuming large amounts of dairy products to an increased likelihood of developing breast acne.

Researchers concluded that reducing consumption of cheese, alcohol and meat, as well as increasing intake of vegetables, nuts, legumes, olive oil and oily fish, may improve skin conditions such as rosacea and acne. They added that the study’s findings could contribute to the development of new nutritional approaches for people suffering from these diseases.
