Muscovites who collect primroses listed in the Red Book may face administrative or criminal liability. About this “Moscow 24” said lawyer Alla Georgieva. He explained that such plants include some species of snowdrop, wood anemone, some species of corydalis, and lungwort.

According to him, this also applies to unintentional acts. For this, individuals will have to pay a fine from 2.5 to 5 thousand rubles, authorities – from 15 to 20 thousand rubles, legal entities – from 500 thousand to 1 million rubles. The lawyer also emphasized that people who sell or buy such plants are also punished.

Under Article 260.1 of the Criminal Code, criminal liability arises from intentional actions against primrose.

“This is punishable by up to 480 hours of compulsory labor, up to two years of correctional work as well as forced labor, or imprisonment of up to four years and a fine of up to one million rubles,” the expert explained.

If the criminal used the Internet or his official position, the punishment may be more severe. Moreover, Georgieva noted that this also applies to cases where a group of people do this by conspiring in advance or by making a public display of guilt.
