A law enforcement officer determined the man had eaten ice cream before stealing the dog and threw the package away. The identity of the attacker was determined based on the fingerprints found on him; The attacker turned out to be a 49-year-old man who lived on a nearby street.

The man did not deny the accusations and said he stole the dog with the intention of selling it. He tried to replace it with some alcohol, but nothing worked, after which the Russian decided to post an advertisement on the Internet for the sale of the animal.

The stolen dog was returned to its owner. A criminal case was opened against the thief.
