Candidate of Medical Sciences Dmitry Bulanov explains that in Russia, as throughout the world, the socially active population is most susceptible to HIV infection among those who prefer sexual intercourse without using a condom and with different partners. “There are two classes of drugs against HIV. The main ones are retroviral, blocking the multiplication of viral particles within the cells of the immune system. The second category of drugs is aimed at the immediate prevention of the disease after previous exposure to the disease or after suspected sexual contact,” Bulanov explained.
