For the early detection of HIV infection, Russia has created a test that can detect the presence of infection in earlier stages and in just eight minutes. This was reported by the Izvestia newspaper, citing biotechnologists of the Russian company Rapid Bio.

Candidate of Medical Sciences Dmitry Bulanov explains that in Russia, as throughout the world, the socially active population is most susceptible to HIV infection among those who prefer sexual intercourse without using a condom and with different partners. However, there is currently no medicine that can completely cure an infected person from this infection.

“There are two classes of drugs against HIV. The main ones are retroviral, blocking the multiplication of viral particles within the cells of the immune system. The second category of drugs is aimed at the immediate prevention of the disease after previous exposure to the disease or after suspected sexual contact,” Bulanov explained.

As Galina Kozhevnikova, head of the Department of Infectious Diseases at RUDN University, said, at the current stage a person learns about his infection only 3-5 years after infection. The fact is that during this period the disease is asymptomatic and a person infected with HIV can continue to spread the virus without realizing it.

Experts say the new tests will significantly speed up examination and prevent the spread of infection. Scientists say another way to achieve this is to increase public awareness.

Before that, residents of Sverdlovsk offered Get tested for HIV and then buy a bouquet of flowers.

Formerly the Organization for Cancer Research and Treatment of the United States reported About the treatment of blood cancer and HIV in a 68-year-old man.
