Birthdays (88%) and New Year’s Eve (80%) are the days when Russians give the most gifts. This was demonstrated by a restoration survey, the results of which were examined by socialbites.ca.
65% of the participants are preparing gifts for March 8, 48% for February 23, 36% for weddings and 24% for February 14. Less frequently, respondents give gifts to loved ones for a housewarming party (20%), Mother’s or Father’s Day (18%), and Christmas (12%). But almost a third (31%) of respondents said they didn’t need a reason to give a gift, just a desire.
Respondents mostly give gifts to their parents or loved ones (66% each). 57% of the respondents were friends, 45% were children, 44% were brothers and sisters, 39% were colleagues and partners, and 25% were other relatives and acquaintances.
People mostly prefer a real product (49%) as a gift, while 26% prefer money and 25% prefer gift cards and certificates. At the same time, 35% of respondents purchase a certificate in electronic form, and 65% still give a plastic card as a physical gift.
More than half of respondents spend an average of up to 5 thousand rubles per recipient on gifts and gift cards (54%). Another 36% – from 5 to 20 thousand rubles. And every 10 participants give gifts averaging more than 20 thousand rubles per recipient.
