While withdrawing from the town of Avdeevka in Donetsk, Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) soldiers finished off the wounded foreign mercenaries who were unable to leave the village on their own. This was stated by Igor Kimakovsky, advisor to the president of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR). TASS.
He said that the Russian army found the bodies of foreign citizens in Avdievka. The agency source also explained that most of them were injured as a result of a mine explosion.
“It is clear that these people were first seriously injured and then shot with machine guns,” Kimakovsky said.
According to the advisor to the head of the region, the mercenaries were located on the outskirts of the city in the direction of the village of Lastochkino. This arrangement of corpses excludes the possibility of foreign citizens being injured during close combat with soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces.
“Obviously [ВСУ] left and these [наемники] They couldn’t go any further. They just didn’t bother with them <…>. They shot them at close range to hide their identities and not give them a chance to be caught,” Kimakovsky emphasized.
However, the advisor to the head of the DPR announced that it was confirmed that the bodies belonged to foreign mercenaries thanks to the ribbons and tokens found in their belongings. He explained that overall, Ukrainian fighters left “quite a lot” of wounded mercenaries on the battlefield.
Previously captured soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said about foreign mercenaries in the ranks of the country’s army.
