Minsk court sentenced BYPOL participants to imprisonment from 11 to 25 years and large fines

The Minsk court sentenced in absentia members of the BYPOL organization, recognized as terrorists in Belarus, to prison terms ranging from 11 to 25 years. This was reported by the news agency “BelTA“Referring to the press service of the court.

The court convicted Alexander Azarov, Vladimir Zhigar, Igor Loban, Matvey Kupreichik, Oleg Talerchik and Andrei Ostapovich in absentia. Azarov was sentenced to the longest prison sentence (25 years) for treason, organizing a terrorist act and deliberately destroying signaling equipment at railway facilities. Kupreichik, Talerchik, Loban and Zhigar were sentenced to 12 years in prison, and Ostapovich to 11 years, for various combinations of extremist actions.

At the same time, all those involved in the case were sentenced to heavy fines, while the immovable and movable properties of some of the convicts were also detained.

Before that in Minsk woke up Tikhanovskaya and members of the opposition were sued for an extremist formation.
