Journalist Ksenia Sobchak did not appear in court to testify in the extortion case of Rostec chairman Sergei Chemezov. This was reported by TASS Ariana Romanovsky, the convicted former editor-in-chief of Tatler magazine, is Dmitry Malutov’s lawyer.
According to him, Sobchak is not involved in the case – neither a witness nor an eyewitness, he was not even summoned to court.
On February 12, the Moscow Khamovnichesky Court sent Kirill Sukhanov, the former commercial director of Sobchak’s “Attention Media” holding, to 7.5 years in a maximum security colony on charges of extorting 11 million rubles from the head of Rostec, Sergei Chemezov.
According to investigators, Arian Romanovsky and Timur Bigaev, administrators of the Telegram channel “Tushite Lights”, which was used as a means of extortion, were sentenced to 7 years in prison each.
Sobchak said that the sentence given to Kirill Sukhanov was unfair and disproportionate.

Sobchak initially stated that he had nothing to do with the “Lights Out” channel, but left Russia on the eve of Sukhanov’s arrest. The journalist then returned to Moscow, visited the Rostec office, and then apologized to Chemezov on behalf of the employees.
