Scientists from the University of Canterbury found that doing any physical exercise significantly reduces blood pressure. The results of the research were published at: magazine British Journal of Sports Medicine (bjsm).
The authors analyzed 270 studies involving nearly 16 thousand people. All scientific studies were carried out between 1990 and February 2023. The study found that several types of physical activity, including aerobic training, dynamic resistance training, high-intensity interval training and isometric exercise, significantly reduced both systolic and diastolic blood pressure.
However, they managed to identify the most effective exercise; Turns out it’s isometric exercises like isometric wall squats. This is strength training in which the length of your muscles does not change and your joints do not move. As a result of resisting the resistance of an object, your muscles contract and you hold this position constant for a while. This type of exercise reduced systolic (upper) blood pressure by 8.24 mm Hg. Art. and diastolic (lower) 4.00 mmHg. Art.
