Businessman Yevgeny Prigozhin, founder of Wagner PMC, predicted the appointment of a new commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the spring of 2023. Journalists drew attention to this statement “Tsargrad”.

In an interview with media technologist Konstantin Dolgov last spring, Prigozhin stated that the commander-in-chief in Ukraine may change.

“If there is no Zaluzhny, there will be Syrsky,” the chairman of the PMC said then. During the meeting, he reasoned that even if Syrsky was not selected, Ukrainian officials would still find a military man for the commander-in-chief position.

By his last name, Prigozhin mentioned Valery Zaluzhny and Alexander Syrsky, former and current commanders-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky February 8 officially changed Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny. In his place, Colonel General Alexander Syrsky was appointed commander of the group of Ukrainian troops on the eastern front.

Zaluzhny also revealed that he does not currently hold any positions. According to unofficial information, the former commander-in-chief was offered, among other things, the post of Ambassador of Ukraine to Great Britain.

Previously was told Zaluzhny’s future after resignation.
