Two people dead Three people survived after a small plane crashed According to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, the condition of three other passengers is unknown this Friday on a highway near the city of Naples on the southwest coast of Florida (USA). Authorities did not identify the victims who were traveling on the Bombardier Challenger 600 flight from Ohio.
The accident occurred at around 15:21 local time (20:21 GMT) after the pilot of the plane contacted the Naples airport control tower and reported the situation. I had problems with both engines.. Shortly after the plane ran to the road Interstate I-75, according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
In audio from the Naples airport control tower, the pilot can be heard warning “before they said they couldn’t make it” that two engines had failed and they were 2 miles (about 3 kilometers) from the airport. He was forced to make an emergency landing in one of the lanes of I-75, according to local station NBC2.
Video footage published on social media shows the plane burning on the road and thick smoke clouds rising.
That interstate remains closed in both directions while agents from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are at the scene of the crash.
The plane was owned by the charter company Hop a Jet Worldwide Jet Charter.
