New tractor unit in the province of Alicante. Approximately fifty vehicles travel on the roads of the Vega Baja regionIt causes delays in its path to continue denouncing the precarious state of the agricultural sector. The march, which started towards Rojales in the La Granadilla industrial area in San Isidro, is expected to pass through towns such as Albatera, Cox and Almoradí.
As on Tuesday, calls for protests at another tractor trailer operating between Albatera and Orihuela were made through social networks and outside of major professional agricultural organizations, AVA-Asaja, La Unió, COAG, UPA-PV and Asaja Alicante distance themselves from such actions. José Vicente Andreu, president of the second party, underlines: “We fully agree with the demands, but we do not agree with the course of action, given that mobilizations must be called in a timely manner, respecting the established order. They are doing it.”
Protest events called by major organizations, originally planned to be held on February 12, will finally take place on the 16th, with mandatory permission from the Government Sub-Delegation. So things are like this: Two highway disruptions were planned. One will be on the A-7 near Orihuela and the other will be on the A-31 in Villena. And the aim of all this is to give visibility to the regions where agribusinesses are more concentrated, as well as to those regions that are most severely damaged by the critical situation that the sector is going through.
This was pointed out by Asaja Alicante, an organization that remembers in the case of Vega Baja: Farmers face common challenges such as low prices and unfair competition, as well as water scarcityThere are additions while in Alto Vinalopódisrupted harvests associated with two iconic crops, cherries and grains, in recent years. Initially, these protest events were planned to be held on February 12, but eventually it was recommended to obtain the necessary permissions from the Government Sub-Delegation.
