According to forecasts, the daytime temperature will not rise above 14 degrees below zero, and at night the thermometer will drop to minus 24 degrees.
“There will be a sharp drop in temperatures starting from Thursday,” Vilfand warned.
He announced that the temperature could drop to minus 10-13 degrees on Thursday night, February 8, and down to minus 20 degrees in the region. It is estimated that the temperature will be around minus 10 degrees during the day. The cold will be especially strong on Friday and Saturday.
The scientific director of the Hydrometeorology Center noted that the capital region will be behind the hurricane. On Friday and Saturday nights, temperatures will drop to minus 24 degrees, which is below early February norms.
“From Friday the weather was nice but severe,” Vilfand concluded.
