Regarding his work leading the jury, which was booed at some points at the event, Luengo has a confession to make: “I cried as I walked up the stairs before I sat there because I saw my mother suffering at home. “I’m a strong woman with a very tough back, but in my entire career I’ve never seen my mother suffer because of something related to my job.”
The singer and dancer also emphasizes her commitment to all participants of the Benidorm Festival: “While I was there, I danced and sang every song, so my classmates (candidates) felt supported, not judged, by us.”. “I suffered, I neither deny nor hide it,” admits Luengo, who nevertheless prefers the positive: “They applauded me and said very nice things to me, the same incredible audience. We are intense and it gets intense.”
“I find the whole thing an incredible experience. Thank you to everyone who trusted me because they knew I would give everything with empathy, passion and dedication,” he adds, before concluding: “Everyone was proud, I felt sorry for those who did not pass. I congratulate everyone who showed the great talent we have in this country.”
