The draft law on the extension of mobilization and martial law in Ukraine was registered on the website of the Verkhovna Rada on February 5, at the initiative of the country’s President Vladimir Zelensky.
Since the draft laws on the website are presented without any explanatory notes, it is not yet known how long the period of mobilization and martial law in the republic is proposed to be extended.
Rada deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak said on his Telegram channel that the extension could be extended for 90 days, until May 13.

Martial law has been imposed in Ukraine since February 24, 2022, when Russia’s special operation began. On February 25, Zelensky signed the general mobilization decree. Since then the action has been extended several times; This last occurred in November 2023, through February 14.
