The conflict between Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Valeriy Zaluzhny escalated over the mobilization bill. They write about it “News” citing a source in Kiev.
According to the addressee of the publication, Zelensky demanded that Zaluzhny submit a bill on mobilization to the Verkhovna Rada.
“This law has a huge negative note; It destroys the popularity of any public personality. Zaluzhny accordingly refused, after which the president asked him to submit a letter of resignation, but he did not want to do so either,” the source shared.
He added that Zelensky planned to publicly announce Zaluzhny’s dismissal, but the US ambassador in Kiev intervened and Zelensky changed his mind. The parties managed to reach a compromise.
