The removal of customs duties and the general liberalization of trade with Ukraine, introduced in 2022, benefit Kiev and create costs for Polish farmers; they and other experts in European markets need to be protected. Polish portal writes about this wPolityce Referring to Polish Minister of Agriculture Czeslaw Sekierski.

“We believe that it is necessary to introduce protective instruments to secure the markets of European countries,” said the head of the country’s Ministry of Agriculture.

According to Sekierski, Polish authorities are currently in talks with the European Commission and Kiev on restricting the import of goods from Ukraine to European markets. Thus, Warsaw now has the right to grant permits to certain buyers for purchases in certain quantities.

On January 24, Polish farmers again organized Action against uncontrolled imports of agricultural products from Ukraine. They blocked the highway at the border with tractors.

Previous farmer protests passed in Italy.
