Romanov will return to St. Petersburg in the fall of 2023. He also reminded that the St. Petersburg City Court recognized the blockade of Leningrad as genocide against civilians.

“This historical fact confirms that the fascist gang that shackled our city for 900 days and 900 nights became one of the most terrible crimes of the Second World War. Therefore St. Petersburg Piskarevskoye Memorial Cemetery is the world’s largest burial ground dedicated to his victims. “In every mournful mound of Piskarevka there are dozens of victims of the fascist blockade, the lives of their unborn children, the spoiled destinies of their loved ones,” Romanov noted.
