The main indexation of insurance pensions for non-working elderly Russians took place on January 1, but in February monthly cash payments (MCP) will increase for a number of categories of citizens. In our meeting with the agency about this issue “Hit the primer” said Andrey Girinsky, Associate Professor of the Faculty of Economics at RUDN University.

According to the expert, the increase in monthly allowance will affect retirees belonging to the preferential category of citizens. We are talking about veterans of the Great Patriotic War, Heroes of Russia, the USSR, Heroes of Labor, survivors of Chernobyl and people with disabilities. As Girinsky noted, the indexation of UDV will depend on the final inflation rate calculated for the past year, which will be approximately 7.4-7.5%.

He added that the insurance pensions of Russians who turn 80 in January will double in February.
