Sergei Belyakov, head of the Russian State Circus, said that the Russian state circus company organized 2,805 events in 2023 and the average number of performances per circus increased by 11% compared to last year.
In total, branches of the Russian State Circus were visited by more than 3.4 million Russians last year, and the total occupancy of auditoriums in circuses reached 71% (66% in 2022).
Belyakov said that the most occupied halls of the company’s circuses were in St. He noted that there are branches in St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Saratov, Tyumen and Novosibirsk.
In addition, according to Belyakov, Russians began to repeatedly participate in circus performances with children. He noted that in 2022, only 28 percent of the audience visited circus shows 2 or more times, while in 2023, the number of repeat visits increased to 32 percent.

Last year, branches of the Russian State Circus, with the support of the Russian Ministry of Defense, organized 96 performances for families of SVO participants and mobilized citizens, attended by more than 93 thousand spectators.
