Scientific Director of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand said: TASSHe said that the temperature in Moscow in the coming days will fluctuate greatly under the influence of the hurricane.

“This is because the hurricane, whose center is currently in the Baltic region, northwest of Moscow, is carrying warm air masses from the Mediterranean and the South Atlantic,” Vilfand said.

According to the weather forecaster, daytime temperatures in Moscow on January 16 will range between -3°C and -1°C, possibly rising to zero. Temperatures in the Moscow region are expected to be between -5°C and 0°C. Light snowfall is also expected.

According to Vilfand’s forecast, starting from January 17, the situation will change sharply and the hurricane will move from the north-west to the northeast from the northern regions. In this respect, Moscow will be in the flow of the northwest, not the southwest. According to him, day and night temperatures will drop to -8°C to -10°C in the capital and -12°C in the region.

As the meteorologist said, temperatures on Thursday night will continue to drop to -16°C and -18°C in Moscow and -21°C in the region, and during the day the eastern perimeter of the next hurricane will fall. As you approach the capital, the temperature will start to rise.
