Four people arrested for kidnapping a person in Zaragoza to take him to France by car

Mossos d’Esquadra arrested four men in Bellpuig (Lleida) accused of forcing a person into a vehicle in Zaragoza, supposedly with the intention of taking him to France.

According to the Catalan police, a person who said he was a relative of the victim called the Catalan police at around 22.30 yesterday. Mossos d’Esquadra will warn of abduction and give details of the vehicle in which the detainees escaped, apparently for the purpose of reaching France, where they resided.

The victim’s own relative was following the victim’s vehicle with his car. Informing the alleged kidnappers and the travel plan to the Catalan policebut he lost sight of the car when it entered the municipality of Alcarràs.

Alert to the kidnapping led the Mossos d’Esquadra to deploy a device that would activate several patrols from the Ponent police district. Nearby areas to intercept the vehicle where the alleged kidnappers were traveling.

At around 23:15, a Mossos patrol spotted the alleged kidnappers’ vehicle in Bellpuig (Lleida), so police blocked the road they were traveling on until they caught up with them.

The police operation led to the arrest of the alleged kidnapper of four people aged between 23 and 38 and the release of the victim. 28 year old personwhich is safe and sound.

The Mossos d’Esquadra Investigation Unit in Cervera (Lleida) has opened proceedings to clarify the circumstances of the kidnapping, without currently ruling out any hypotheses, including any confrontation or showdown between the persons involved.
