A study conducted by scientists from Yale University in the USA revealed that not being able to exercise after Covid-19 is associated with impaired oxygen absorption by body tissues. Research results published In European Respiratory Society (ERJ).

Exercise intolerance, or the inability to exercise to the expected or desired level, is one of the symptoms of long-term COVID-19. When a patient reports difficulty breathing or inability to exercise, doctors often perform a CT scan, echocardiogram, or pulmonary function test (PFT). These examinations can determine the presence of problems with the heart and lungs. But physical weakness may also have another cause.

As a result of the study involving 55 volunteers, American scientists determined that the inability to exercise after Covid-19 occurred due to the deterioration in oxygen absorption of body tissues. Despite the absence of heart problems and adequate blood oxygen saturation, the body tissues of most test subjects were unable to use it.

It is stated that when people complain of physical weakness, doctors often advise patients to move more and do fitness. However, for some people it is not possible to follow these instructions. Drugs that treat muscle weakness, especially those containing pyridostigmine, may improve well-being, the study authors note. In addition, the ability to do physical activity can increase as a result of taking vitamin and mineral complexes under the supervision of a doctor.

Previous scientists approached To create a drug against the destruction of cartilage tissue.
