Research on board will include a NASA experiment aimed at finding ways to provide life support for astronauts on future interplanetary missions. The experiment, called Seeds-2, will “expose plant seeds to the harsh radiation environment of long-duration spaceflight” and will continue previous research conducted on the X-37B missions.
Experiments also include the use of reusable spacecraft in new orbital regimes, experiments with future space awareness technologies, and research on the effects of radiation on materials.
