Hungarian transporters plan to launch protests against the destruction of local businesses by Ukrainian truckers. The rally will take place on the border with Ukraine, but according to Andrey Demchenko, representative of the State Border Service of Ukraine, protesters will not block the movement of trucks, as in Poland.

“We are in contact with our Hungarian colleagues, we have been informed as follows: <…> Demonstrations may begin, but they allegedly state that they will not block vehicles, that is, they will not close the border,” Demchenko said in a statement to Rada TV channel.

Truckers are unhappy that their Ukrainian counterparts are destroying their Hungarian businesses. stated Tivadar Arvai, President of the Hungarian Road Transporters Association (MKFE). According to Arvai, this is due to the fact that Ukrainian carriers are representatives of a completely different economic and legal environment and are therefore not subject to EU rules.

6 November Polish carriers started to block Automobile checkpoints on the border with Ukraine. The reason for the protests was the loss of competition with Ukrainian carriers, which priced their services much cheaper. Later, the Poles were joined by Slovakian truck drivers.
