Main power lines were cut in the Kiev region of Ukraine. Vadim Kudrytsky, head of the national energy company Ukrenergo, announced this on the local TV channel Rada.
He noted that many infrastructure facilities in the region were damaged as a result of the attack at night. Therefore, government officials and experts began to consider the possibility of imposing restrictions on energy consumption, but so far they have managed to avoid such measures.
“In the city of Kiev, many main powerful power transmission lines that supply energy to the city and cities around Kiev were closed,” Kudritsky emphasized.
The head of the company also noted that even before the current events, many power units were taken out of service for repairs. In this context, Ukrainian authorities had to turn to neighboring states for help.
At the same time, Kudritsky, in the end, still appealed to the country’s citizens to save energy. According to him, citizens need to stop unnecessary electricity use.
