97 percent LPR

Sergey Shoigu reported It’s about taking control of Svyatogorsk and other large settlements, including Studenok, Yarovaya, Kirovsk, Yampol and Drobyshevo.

“A significant part of the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics and 15 other settlements on the left bank of the Seversky Donets were liberated, including the cities of Krasny Port and Svyatogorsk,” Shoigu said.

According to him, Russian troops have established control over the residential areas of Severodonetsk and are trying to occupy the industrial zone and the nearest settlements.

“The attack is developing in the direction of Pasnensky. <…> In general, 97 percent of the territory of the Lugansk People’s Republic has been liberated to date,” he said.

The Minister said that in the last 10 days, 51 military equipment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, taken from abroad, was destroyed in Ukraine. Including 12 armored vehicles, 21 155mm howitzers, two MLRS and 16 unmanned aerial vehicles.

“In five days, 126 soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine surrendered, the total number of which is 6489 people,” Shoigu said.

He added that the demining work continues. In total, “about three thousand hectares were checked, almost fifteen thousand explosive objects were neutralized.”

“The territory of the Azovstal plant, including its underground facilities, has been completely cleared of mines,” the minister said.

“Establishing a Peaceful Life”

Shoigu also stressed that the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant is operating normally.

“Europe’s largest Zaporozhye nuclear power plant is operating in normal mode and is capable of producing up to half of all nuclear production capacities in Ukraine,” he said.

He added that “the uninterrupted operation of thirty-three coal mines, two oil and fourteen gas fields, which came under the control of the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics, continues.” According to him, 57 percent of the capacity of Ukraine’s metallurgical industry is concentrated in the occupied territories.

He noted that during the withdrawal of the Ukrainian Armed Forces “they tried to cause maximum damage to these sectors of the economy.” When industrial facilities are taken under control by the Russian army, they take them under protection and “thus protecting the development potential of the regional economy”.

“The demining of the port of Mariupol has been completed. It is operating normally and has received its first cargo ships,” Shoigu said.

According to him, “activities continue to establish a peaceful life in the occupied Donbass territory.” In Mariupol, for example, “water and electricity supplies to residential areas are gradually renewed, the streets are cleaned, and the first social facilities are operational.”

Berdyansk port also started to work. On behalf of the Commander-in-Chief, we are ready to load grain into these ports (Berdyansk and Mariupol – socialbites.ca),” added the Minister of Defense.

According to Shoigu, the Ministry of Defense, together with Russian Railways, restored 1,200 kilometers of railway lines to maintain full-fledged traffic between Crimea and Russia, Donbass and Ukraine in six railway sections.

“We started to deliver goods to Mariupol, Berdyansk and Kherson. Automobile communication was opened from the territory of Russia along the mainland to the Crimea. Uninterrupted water supply from the North Crimean Canal to the Crimean Peninsula has been resumed.

He emphasized that the restoration of transport infrastructure and water supply “creates favorable conditions for the development of the agro-industrial complex.” The head of the defense department stated that “its potential is an average of 10 million tons of grain crops and 1.4 million tons of vegetables per year.” He also noted that more than twenty-seven thousand tons of cargo was delivered to civilians. These include food, basic necessities and medicines. The head of the Department of Defense concluded that the department will continue to “restore social facilities and establish a peaceful life in the areas under their control.”

“Deliberate Arson”

Earlier, the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov, said at a briefing that the testimonies of local residents and monks in Svyatogorsk “confirm the fact of intentional arson on June 5” of the wooden sketch of All Saints of All Saints. Russian Territory by the Ukrainian army.

According to him, they used the Lavra buildings as a “shield”, “knowing that Russian military personnel did not shoot at temple buildings and cultural monuments.”

Local residents said that while retreating, the Ukrainian army set fire to the wooden shovel of All Saints of Russian Land “with an explosion of combustible ammunition from a large-caliber machine gun mounted on an armored vehicle.”
