Eyewitnesses to the service said the priest fed pneumonia patients “with a single spoon” of bread and wine.
His parents were not happy with this venture. No one asked them for permission to conduct “religious activities.”
The chief physician later explained that he feared accusations on religious grounds and therefore allowed the ceremony to take place. Employees of the pulmonology department described the incident as “unacceptable” in a meeting with journalists.
