In addition to the usual basketball courts, horizontal bars and exercise equipment, Moscow youth also try themselves in modern sports. Skateboarding, extreme scooters and skates, BMX and MTB bikes are a popular form of sports entertainment and an affordable means of individual mobility,” added Koksharov.

He noted that walking distance to open sports areas provides the opportunity for all city residents to do sports. At the same time, Koksharov explained that the skate parks and pump tracks created by the city cover a wide range of citizens from 2 to 70 years old in these new disciplines, so their availability is an important factor in the development and improvement of mass sports. health of citizens.

“The upcoming World Friendship Games will take place in Moscow and Yekaterinburg in the summer of 2024. The list of disciplines also includes extreme sports. “In recent years, a network of accessible skate parks and pump tracks have appeared in Moscow, where you can improve your skills and allow Moscow athletes to show good results in skateboarding and cycling,” he said.

According to him, the upcoming large-scale event will clearly demonstrate the fun and popularity of extreme sports, since special infrastructure is required for the constant advancement of athletes and awards on the podium.

Koksharov expressed hope that in the future it will be possible to implement clusters not only outdoor, but also indoor throughout the year for classes in the Skateboarding Street and BMX Freestyle disciplines.

“I am sure that the further development of infrastructure for extreme sports will contribute to increasing the number of people actively involved in skateboarding, BMX and other modern sports,” he said.
