A small, twin-engine, two-seat Beechcraft aircraft entered the airspace of Hungary, Romania, Serbia and Bulgaria from low altitude, Romania’s Ministry of National Defense said. This has been reported TASS.
According to the press service of the ministry, the plane crossed the Romanian airspace along the route Oradea – Caransebes – Drobeta – Turnu – Severin.
They noted that the aircraft did not show hostility, but the pilot did not respond to the signals of the military aircraft accompanying him.
According to the defense ministry, the plane took off near the city of Debrecen in Hungary around 17:30 without a confirmed flight plan and without a transponder being turned on. In Hungarian airspace, two aircraft of the Hungarian Air Force were escorted, in Romanian airspace – aircraft of the Romanian Air Force. At around 19:00, the aircraft passed Serbian airspace for about two minutes and then entered Bulgarian airspace.
The Romanian Ministry of Defense added that Bulgarian authorities are currently seeking information to identify the aircraft and learn the details of the incident.
