The United States, Israel and the radical Palestinian movement Hamas are close to reaching an agreement on stopping the fighting. The newspaper reported this washington post.
“Israel, the United States and Hamas are close to an agreement on the release of dozens of women and children in exchange for a five-day pause in fighting,” sources told the publication.
According to them, the release of hostages held in the Gaza Strip could begin “within the next few days.”
The day before, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appreciated Hostage situation in the Gaza Strip. He noted that “there is no agreement at the moment” and that if it emerges, the Israeli public will be informed.
The situation in the Middle East worsened when Hamas militants from the Gaza Strip entered Israel on October 7; Radicals took hundreds of hostages and deported them to the region.
