Since it appeared The first edition of ‘OT’, María Laura Corradini Falomir, Chenoa (Mar de Plata, 1975) captivated the public with his talent and overwhelming personality. Twenty-two years later, he has become a professional who can act with ease in television as well as in music, which is well evidenced in programs such as ‘.Oh happy days’ and ‘Your face looks familiar to me‘. Now he faces his most exciting challenge: to present the ‘talent’ where it all began, which will begin its journey on Prime Video on Monday the 20th. Then comes the thing that takes him the most out of his comfort zone: ‘The challenge’.
Competing in ‘OT’ 22 years ago, Chenoa could never have imagined that ‘talent’ would emerge..
Nor am I dreaming. He would say, “They just have to catch me” (laughs). It’s a hard thing to imagine, to imagine, it hadn’t even occurred to me until it was offered to me.
So what went through your mind when they did this?
I think I had a moment of ‘shock’ because I said yes immediately. And then there was a process of digestion that lasted for months because I didn’t know what emotion to feel. It was between panic, am I going to do it right?, little crickets, and then an illusion. All this worked in his favor because he was putting her in his place. People ask me, “Are you happy?” they asked. He said yes, but it wasn’t a definitive yes. Now I’m like “I love this!” I say. I had to start. What I did in the presentation was: Come on, we’ve already broken your shell. Which I think I even said. I can’t remember. Because we’re playing with the factor: Wait, I’ll let it go.
He looked excited. Everything he has experienced must have passed before him. The same thing will happen when we are with the new generation of contestants.
When I saw them at Final Casting, I started crying because I know what it’s like. Yes, there will be a factor of not being able to control it very well.
No one can empathize with them better.
Yeah, I think the hardest part for them, or at least that’s how I experienced it, was when they always tell you to get on the podium. But you shouldn’t cross the line unless it’s your turn to sing. It’s so amazing, because you’re directing, you want to do everything, three minutes flies by. You don’t even know what you’re doing. My job as a presenter is: calm down, everything is where it should be. This empathy…
They were very naive in their generation. Now, even though they are more experienced, are they still hiding something?
Always. Because they are so young. They have the wisdom that comes with the technological part, because they control it very well, they have seen themselves on the screen, they have heard themselves… But there are also lessons with great teachers who will save you from this situation. comfortable Zone. Anyway, they’re going to be a little dizzy. They are that age. The more tools you give them, the more experience they will have. Whatever comes: good, bad or average. It’s not important.
The typical question is whether you look at previous presenters like Carlos Lozano or Roberto Leal. But of course Chenoa is too much Chenoa….
(Laughs) I am very different and have a lot of essence. Lozano gave us a lot of peace because he was a very easy-going person. “So, beautiful, how are you?” he would say and that would make me feel relieved. Roberto is very sweet. Extremely caring, funny… He has a very pure essence. You get some benefit from all the presenters that have passed. Then there’s what you do to yourself. And of course in terms of my personality I consider myself to be very armed and as a presenter I am very hardworking, I listen to the councilor a lot. I am a very good student because I love what I do… And I prefer the pen because I am a pen… (laughs).
It’s a great invention that premieres are 90 minutes long. This will give you a break.
They were just a little eternal. Especially about compromise, which seems important to me. That hour and a half seems easier to me for families. I’ll go quickly, but so everyone can have their own space. And the great thing is that there will be ‘extra a day’ where they will break down the sauce. I’ll just take it and make sure everything goes well, only then will there be a lot of great content.
In this way, the contestants will not lose their concentration at the premiere.
Clear. But these groups need to comment on this issue. It can’t just be for a short while at one in the morning. Let’s do this every day.
You are quite a pioneer in combining music and television. It seemed like it couldn’t be done before. Are you proud of this decision?
Yes very. There was a change about eight years ago and I started doing a lot of TV, radio etc because I wanted to explore. We started making a program. I was being given an opportunity. I knew they weren’t very welcome here because they weren’t used to it. You either sing or dance. And it seems to me that you sing and dance and rock and roll. What difference does it make! After all, this is my life. I wanted to expose myself, leverage myself, and make everything I learned nourishing. And now I get it, it’s amazing. White chocolate.
Due to his character, he has always been a little ahead. How does he say in his song: “When you’re gone/When I come…?”
I believe this is life, but without complaints. Hey? Everyone has what they have, and from there you manage what you can do with it. What I clearly know is that ultimately my life is mine, no matter how many people have their opinions and no matter how much noise there is, ultimately your opinion is yours and your life is yours. You need to have some control over this. For sanity, for experience, for age. Age is great. There are also those who do not say this. Say whatever it costs to get there! You should be proud of what you’ve experienced. All of your experiences are important. ‘OT’ of the ‘Prime Video era’ begins ‘casting’ in Barcelona
After ‘OT’, did ‘Your face reminds me of something’ give you a big boost for more people to get to know you?
Yes, I entered the living room of the house. And with so many other shows like ‘Oh, it’s a happy day’, please, what was that ‘happy’ like? Wonderful! And for me it was like: wow, I’m here, let’s see what I do! It was a very good experience. And small collaboration programs. Everything helped me. But ‘Your face looks familiar’ was: wow, here I am again! And I was completely surrounded by my Loli, my angel, and my Latre.
Are you saying, like Lolita, that no one will take away your jury seat?
I find it hilarious that Loli says this. Let’s see, of course he defends himself, but first of all his group. It’s just that we’re very compact. .
And he will compete on ‘The Challenge’. Brave or unconscious?
Both (laughs). If I had known… Oh my God! This experience! I’m still digesting it. I have encountered many fears.
That’s what it’s about.
It took me out of my comfort zone, which is great, but in a rude way, and that’s complicated (laughs). But I also took away a lot of good things. It’s been a long time since I’ve felt such strong feelings. You will see my face.
