Psychologists from the University of Oslo (Norway) identified factors that affect the sexual satisfaction of both single people and people with partners. published by researchers magazine International Journal of Sexual Health (IJSH).
The team collected data from a large and diverse sample of Norwegian adults aged 18 to 89. The sample included 2181 men (52.6%) and 1967 women with an average age of approximately 40 years. Participants completed an online survey.
There were several factors that significantly influenced sexual satisfaction among singles: frequency of masturbation, satisfaction with being alone, level of sexual activity, health ratings, anxiety levels, and self-esteem. For people in relationships, the factors were: satisfaction with their current sexual activity, relationships, body image, frequency of masturbation, and length of relationship.
Future research may examine additional factors such as sexual self-esteem and sociosexuality for a more comprehensive understanding of satisfaction.
