Russian healthcare workers do not observe an increase in the quality of medical services. This was demonstrated by a survey of the Vrachu.ru service, the results of which were reviewed by socialbites.ca.
More than half (56.7%) of those surveyed reported that there was no evidence of any increase in quality and, accordingly, patient satisfaction. 35.6 percent of healthcare professionals said that “service quality has increased slightly, but we cannot talk about a huge breakthrough”. And only 7.7% answered that “the quality of medical care has improved significantly along with patient satisfaction.”
When asked whether patients’ satisfaction with medicine will increase, more than a third (38.4%) of healthcare professionals are quite pessimistic about the future development of the medical system. They believe that “it will get worse, the quality of medical services will decrease.” About a third (34.6%) responded neutrally: “Quality will remain at the same level as now.” Just over a quarter (27%) believe that “the medical system is constantly improving and getting better.”
“Unfortunately, the vast majority do not see any improvement in the functioning of the medical system. And almost three-quarters see no hope for the situation to improve. We are trying to show an objective picture of what is happening, and we will be glad if these results serve as a signal in making decisions on the development of domestic medicine,” said Igor Stepanyukov, general director of the distance medical education service Vrachu.ru.
