A universal flu vaccine has not yet been created in the world, but scientists have proven the possibility of its creation, so we can expect a breakthrough development in the future, director of the Influenza Research Institute. AA Smorodintsev Russian Ministry of Health Dmitry Lioznov.

“A universal vaccine is being developed by many research centers, but so far no success has been achieved in the world. “Some even reached the second phase of the study but showed they were ineffective,” he said.

According to the expert, the last study was conducted in Israel in 2021. He stated that the prototype created later was shown to not work. However, Lioznov has since clarified that there is reason to expect such a vaccine to appear.

“We are waiting for a breakthrough. They are working very intensively on this vaccine. Researchers are trying to find the most conservative part of the virus and create an immune response against it. There is a theoretical justification that such a vaccine could exist today. It should be effective for three to five years.” added the professor.
