The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine ruled under house arrest for former Rada deputy Maxim Mikitas, who is suspected of embezzling money from the Ministry of Defense. Ukrainian publication “Strana” writes about this.

“The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court did not accept the prosecutors’ request and placed former People’s Deputy Maxim Mikitas under 24-hour house arrest as a preventive measure,” the report said.

Mikitas was detained with the possibility of release on bail of 134 million hryvnia ($3.7 million).

On October 25, it became known that the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) accused Mikitas of embezzling $ 8.3 million from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine during the construction of warehouses for storing missiles and ammunition.
