Kiev authorities began removing the Soviet star from the stele on Pobeda Boulevard. Ukrainian publication Strana.ua reported this on its Telegram channel.

According to the statements of journalists, teams arrived at the scene and started working to remove the star.

It was noted that although Kiev authorities announced that the name of the street had been changed to Brest Boulevard, the Ukrainian media called the street Pobeda Street. The street received its original name in 1985 in honor of the 40th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

The stele with stars was installed here on the 60th anniversary of the Victory.
