Israeli authorities evacuated approximately 125 thousand civilians from the border areas after clashes with Palestine began on October 7. The newspaper writes about this Jerusalem Post.
First, civilians were taken from northern and southern countries up to 4 km to the Gaza Strip border. Then, operations began to evacuate those living in cities and communities 4-7 km away from the border.
They were hosted in hotels and guest rooms whose expenses were covered by the state. National Emergency Management Director Yoram Laredo said officials are advising evacuees to stay in hotels until the end of 2023.
“We are working to implement the government’s decision and provide the necessary resources,” Laredo said.
Meanwhile, the Israeli army (IDF) started Repair of parts of the Gaza Strip border destroyed by militants of the radical Palestinian movement Hamas.
The Israeli army is working day and night to clear the border area and install new security systems.
