More than half of Russians (63%) have renovated this year. 30% of them performed such work throughout the house, and 33% performed it in one of the living rooms. This is shown by a study by VseInstrumenty.ru, the results of which were reviewed by socialbites.ca.
Almost a third (32%) spent from 150 to 200 thousand rubles on updating the interior of the house. Another quarter (23%) invested more than 1 million rubles, and 14% invested between 50,000 and 100,000 rubles. At the same time, the expectations of Russians were slightly different: 35% planned to spend from 100 to 150 thousand rubles on repairs, and 22% were sure that they would have to pay more than 1 million.
The cheapest repairs for most Russians were installing or replacing doors (30%) and replacing decorative elements (29%). Plumbing updating and finishing work also turned out to be cheaper than expected (13% each). 12% of those surveyed stated that replacing furniture was the cheapest part of the job.
Russians also chose the cheapest rooms to renovate. These were the bedroom (32%), hallway (30%), living room and children’s room (8% each). The renovations that took the longest for the respondents were the balcony (26%), bathroom and toilet (25%), living room (11%) and bedroom (10%).
During renovation, Russians are most willing to save money on the removal of old unnecessary furniture (23%), garbage collection (21%) and work clothes (20%). Respondents are also looking for ways to reduce costs when purchasing wallpaper, wall coverings and ceilings (13% each).
Russians are not ready to save on flooring and plumbing (18% each), furniture (16%) and windows (14%). At the same time, another 17% stated that they do not look for ways to reduce costs when purchasing goods for repair in principle.
When choosing goods for repair and construction, most Russians are guided by the following factors: price (26%), reviews on the website (18%), general characteristics and recommendations from others (17% each), country of origin, appearance of the product and brand (% each 15), product-related information on specialized websites (13%).
