At the same time, you are trying to wear out for them and you are carrying a twenty-pound box on you. Yes, we also have large orders. For example, we used several trucks to deliver 80 pizzas to a corporate party before New Year’s. But here the difficulty was only in loading and unloading. I didn’t have to carry them on my back.

Is a small salary for food deliveries a myth?

– Just a legend. Almost all of our couriers received at least 4-5 thousand for one night’s work, I personally reached 7 thousand per night when there are many orders and they do not miss the tips. This is under working conditions from 18:00 to 06:00. Salary was usually calculated based on how many kilometers we traveled. Well, tea. The largest amount that customers gave me was 1000 rubles, on average 200-300 rubles.

During the night, tea is given much less, a few at most. But personally, even 4-5 thousand was enough for me.

In one year, I was able to close a half-million loan with this part-time job alone.

What’s the worst part about being a courier?

“I was mostly angry with my colleagues. Mostly it was Tajiks and Uzbeks who were recruited “for hell”. The stumbling block was that these citizens often knew very little Russian. That is why it was impossible to talk to them, but at every opportunity they turned on the “bull”. Run, briefly.

We were also fined at a restaurant or for speaking to customers in a language other than Russian. But that didn’t stop anyone. And they were in no hurry to fire them – these guys could be paid less, so they get hired. For comparison, some “evil talker” received 2-3 thousand rubles.

By the way, we touched on the second most annoying thing – fines. For example, we were fined for leaning on the table to order. For example, there is food and we spread bacteria. On the one hand, this is true, but on the other hand, you forget and lean on your elbows.

Do you eat the food you deliver?

– Yes, it will. I personally have not eaten, but several of my colleagues have sinned this way. The funny thing is that our restaurant tries to protect customers from this and puts a protective sticker on the packages and boxes. But the couriers always kept them in the car. These stickers were on a special plate, everyone had free access to them.

That’s why sometimes the “hungriest” ones actually opened the packages and ate something inconspicuous like nuggets or chips, and then stuck a new one over the old sticker.

When the customer noticed that the portion was small, he claimed the restaurant and the manager started swearing on the “kitchen”. They started arguing in the kitchen, deciding to see if the kitchen reported the potatoes to the cameras. The partition turned out to be full. They realized that the culprit was the courier and was fired. Therefore, I would advise all customers to call the restaurant and take an oath if they notice that the portion has not been reported. Rescue someone else from an unscrupulous delivery man.

– There are cameras in the kitchen – so no one will spit on the food?

I have no idea who in their right mind decides to take their food and spit it out. The way food is prepared is carefully monitored. At least in conscientious institutions.

Yes there are lots of kitchens with roaches, unsanitary conditions and product inconsistencies. But you never know under what conditions you’re cooking unless you see cockroaches in your soup. A friend of mine worked at a restaurant where a fly got into a glass of juice and they removed it and carried the drink to the customer. Nobody knew anything. And the condition of the restaurant was above average. In general, you can not really guess here, but if you choose businesses with a “name”, there are more chances for a clean kitchen.

By the way, your food will not only suffer from the kitchen. In front of me was a courier who dropped a bowl of chicken wings on the floor and shredded them. Vasya took them, “exploded” and put them back. Fortunately, the kitchen noticed this and rearranged the order. And he wanted to take them to the customer.

Is there a way to get free food at a restaurant?
