The national championship for professional skills among people with disabilities and limited health “Abilimpix” is of particular importance for the presidential platform “Russia – Land of Opportunities”. First Deputy General Director of “Russia, the Land of Opportunities” Alexey Agafonov stated this at a press conference dedicated to the championship.
According to him, “Abilimpix” was one of the projects that the platform started working on in 2018, along with the “Leaders of Russia” competition and the “I am a Professional” Olympiad.
Abilimpik games are an effective tool for promoting the principles of participation not only in our community, which includes 20 million people from 89 regions of Russia and 150 countries of the world, but also beyond its borders. “We always pay special attention to the ease of participation of disabled and disabled individuals when creating projects on the platform or accepting existing competitions to the platform,” he said.
It was noted that more than 750 competitors from 76 constituent entities of the Russian Federation will participate in the championship in three age categories. The main venue for the finals of the National Championship will be the Gostiny Dvor Exhibition Center. Competitions will be held in 49 core competency areas from various industries.
Viktor Neumyvakin, Director of the Department of State Policy in the field of secondary vocational education and vocational training, said that Abilimpik competitions have been held in Russia since 2015.
“The number of participants in regional championships is increasing from year to year. This year, more than 8 thousand school children, more than 10 thousand students and nearly 3 thousand experts participated in the competition at all stages. “Each qualification is assigned to an employer – an organization – located in the real sector of the economy, which helps determine a task, considers what equipment it will be performed on, and we see this as a very important component,” he emphasized.
