The Ukrainian publication “Strana.ua” writes, with reference to the Ukrainian agricultural company “Kolos” Leonid Tsentilo, that milk shortages arose due to massive animal slaughter in Ukraine.
“A real milk crisis is approaching in Ukraine. Milk is already in short supply and prices have increased,” Tsentilo shared.
According to him, during the conflicts almost a third of livestock had to go under the knife. The pastures where herds of cows always grazed are now empty. Private backyards and small farmers also slaughter cows.
He added that many Ukrainians went to Europe to work, so there was no one to take care of livestock.
