St. St. Petersburg residents raised more than 3.5 million rubles in one day to help Israeli healthcare

During the day, St. Residents of St. Petersburg donated more than 3.5 million rubles to Israel’s national health service. This was reported by Web site St. Petersburg Great Choral Synagogue.

The synagogue has launched a fundraiser on its website for citizens who have difficulty donating directly to Israeli organizations. The funds raised will be transferred to the Magen David Adom service, which provides emergency care and disaster medicine in Israel.

More than 1,500 people have donated so far. The total amount of funds collected was 3.67 million rubles.

Previously, United States President Joe Biden named Hamas’ attacks on Israel “are an act of terrorism” and Israel has “every right” to respond to them, he said.

He emphasized that the American side supports Israel and ensures that Tel Aviv has everything it needs to care for its citizens, defend itself and respond to attack.
