Bulgarian farmers are planning mass protests on Monday (September 18) due to the resumption of grain imports from Ukraine into the country. This was reported by the publication “Strana.ua”.
It is known that Bulgaria, unlike Hungary, Poland and Slovakia, did not extend this ban.
Farmers plan to block roads and border crossings.
Bulgarian Prime Minister Nikolai Denkov commented on the situation.
Regarding the plans of agricultural workers, the Bulgarian prime minister said, “I do not negotiate with terrorists.”
Denkov also stated that the farmers’ claims were untenable.
“If the state gives more than BGN 2 billion, representatives of the agricultural sector cannot claim that the state does not care. They cannot ignore the requirements of Europe…” the politician explained.
The Prime Minister advised grain producers to reject European funds and then ban Ukrainian goods.
