The holiday of the liberation of Donbass is of great importance for Russia, because now we remember how this land was frivolously transferred to Ukraine in the twenties in pursuit of some legendary structures of the Soviet leaders. This was stated by the candidate of historical sciences, Dmitry Surzhik, general secretary of the Union State Historians Association.
“These lands, their population was and remains Russian, and that has not disappeared either. On the contrary, their being a donor region did not save Ukraine from collapse due to the internal nationalism that was adopted and developed by the Ukrainian authorities and took increasingly radical forms.
According to him, if you see the continuity between the current Maidan regime and the Bandera ruling on Ukrainian territory, the current Ukrainian regime has completely sided with these criminals.
“They periodically entered into tactical alliances with the Wehrmacht, sometimes attacked some cars to rob, terrorized their own Ukrainian villages with them,” the historian recalled.
He emphasized that today we are talking about the liberation of Russian Donbass from Nazi power.
“Therefore, the protection of their population, which belongs to them not only by blood ties, family ties, but also by mentality, is a struggle for the rights of its citizens, including in the international arena,” said the historian.
According to him, this struggle of the state and the protection of its citizens wherever they are is a sign of great power.
“Today we begin to return to such a practice that contributes not only to awareness, but also to the strengthening of our sovereignty and self-awareness. When we are confronted with aggressive nationalism, we begin to understand ourselves better,” he concluded.
Recall that on September 8, Russia celebrates the Day of Liberation from the Nazi invaders of Donbass.
